Course Measurement Certification
This addition to the Reindeer Fun Run is USATF certified and takes runners through beautiful downtown and Bethesda neighborhoods of Aberdeen. With long, sloping curves, and few sharp corners, this course separates from the 5k after the first mile and tours Bethesda before returning to the 5k at mile 5 to take advantage of the long, final downhill run into downtown and food, music and fun at the After Party!

12k Course is certified!
Is there a pacing requirement? I'm training for my first half marathon and I need some longer distance runs as training. I don't run fast, but I want to do the 12k is this ok?
Absolutely it's okay. We do put time limits on the runs because Aberdeen closes roads, but our goal is to get everyone across the finish line before that happens. We do ask that there are no pure walkers on the 12k, because that would be a long time when you're covering 7.45 miles. Way to go on the longer runs – hope to see you there!

I bet you were one of those kids that shook all the boxes under the tree to figure out what the presents were before Christmas. LOL – The 12kers have been very, very good this year, we think you’ll like it! That’s all we’re saying…
What's the water station situation on the course? Any pictures of the medal?
What is the time limit for the 12K? Will the miles be marked clearly?
The 5k will have 2 and the 12k will have 5 water stations along the course. The medals are VERY cool, but you will have to wait to find out…
Yes, they will be clearly marked. We are asking that people try to get off the course within 2 hours.
Next year don't forget the "end of the pack" folks they are important too! Also set a time limit for the longer race and sweep the route (all ways) to check for the dedicated runners/walkers who could still be out there.
