Training tips from FirstHealth Fitness Centers
1) Your Daily Training Diet
You’ve committed to running a 5K or 12K, and you’ve got your training plan in place. But how much attention have you given to your nutrition? Can you run a race on Cheetos or french fries? Probably. But you won’t perform as well, and you definitely won’t feel as good as if you had followed a good training diet. If you need specific help getting started, visit our nut...

2017 Course Improvements
Every year we review the Reindeer Fun Run and ask ourselves, "How can we improve?" We think we have a pretty good one this year.
Since the event is getting so big, we need more space at both the start and finish lines for crowds to set up, watch and cheer. To accomplish this, we've made a small course change that adds a cool run along the tracks on Fayetteville and Blue streets. This in turn al...

5k Moved to 9:30
Every year there is one issue we have for certain runners...
When 12kers merge with the 5k course, many of them run into a wall of walkers. We try to make sure everyone is aware, we mark the route with signs, and remind everyone at the starting line. But, sometimes people are just having too much fun and forget that quick runners may be coming up behind them. So, this year we've decided to less...

$50,000 raised for the Boys & Girls Club of the Sandhills, thanks to you!

We are loving your team names!
Every runner who decides to take part in the Reindeer Fun Run every year plays a part in making the run as fun and memorable as it continues to be. While most runners decide to run on their own, there is a selection of runners who decide to run as part of a team with family, friends, and/or coworkers.
One of the things we look most forward to is the names that our team participants come up ...

Super Reindeer
What's that up in the sky?
A bird?
A plane?
A reindeer?
Well, that makes sense actually, we all know reindeer fly on Christmas. But it isn't Christmas yet, and this guy seems to be pretty flashy! Plus, he's spending a lot of time circling Moore County. It must be the 2015 Reindeer Fun Run mascot--now his alter-ego. Finally, the photo of the deer going into a phone booth makes sense.

Signal over Murphy Insurance
We were out and about in Southern Pines, and saw this Gingerbread Man "signal" over Mike Murphy's Nationwide Insurance office. It looks like someone must need help! Sponsor Murphy Insurance is of course a resource for that, but what do you think the signal is all about?

Reindeer at the Sly Fox
We just received a photo someone took while running past The Sly Fox last night. It appears to be our reindeer about to go into the old English phone booth. Interesting.
The Sly Fox has been a sponsor for years, so it is no wonder the reindeer is visiting, but we wonder what he's going to do in the phone booth? Call Santa? I guess we will have to wait and see...
