What a great race. The woman in the rainbow tutu passed me on Mile 3, but I'll not let her defeat me next year!
BTW this was a "12K's of Christmas." That's 7.44 miles. It's a nice distance. 7.5 to 10 miles is what I'd call "challenging that rewarding." Anything less is too quick, anything more is just too painful!

Finished in 58:20. 9th in my age bracket and 79th out of 359. But who's counting!

Got a 10-miler on March 9th to train for. I've decided that 7.5 to 10 miles is my sweet spot. Did you see the recent study on marathoning? Basically we need to run 20 miles a week or less and no faster than 8 mins. per mile, or we risk harming our health. That really puts the kabosh on a lot of training plans! And it just reinforces that Scott Malcomb is going to live to be 135!
