Christmas Parade
The Annual Christmas Parade will be held on December 10th at 3:00 p.m. in Historic Downtown Aberdeen. The Parade is part of Christmas in Aberdeen: A Hometown Holiday Tradition and will include floats, bands, clowns, antique cars, Beauty Queens, scouts, and Santa.
Come on out for a great time and a fun event promoting local shopping, dining, and good times.

Blessing of the Hounds | Southern Pines, North Carolina
One of our favorite events is coming up… On November 24th, the Blessing of the Hounds in beautiful Southern Pines Horse Country is a spectacle to cherish. Hundreds gather along Youngs Road on Thanksgiving Day morning to watch horse and hound, tailgate with friends, and join the hunters for a Thanksgiving Day blessing.

First Friday Southern Pines
October 7 is the last First Friday of the year, and the Reindeer Fun Run crew will be there again, slinging wine & beer to raise money for both the Sunrise Theater and Reindeer Fun Run’s favorite, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sandhills.

Southern Pines Autumnfest
This fall, the Sandhills Race Series has 3 featured races and 5 bonus events. After 30 years, Autumnfest will offer it’s first certified course and computerized timing on October 1, and be the first of the featured events. The Reindeer Fun Run will be the finale to the Sandhills Race Series season on December 3, and will be at the Sandhills Race series tent during Autumnfest taking registrations! So if you come out to run the Autumnfest Southern Pines course, please stop by the tent!

Reindeer “Fun”raiser
We are celebrating the 5th Annual Reindeer Fun Run with our 1st Annual Reindeer “Fun”raiser to Benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sandhills.
Every year we donate 100% of the proceeds of the Reindeer Fun Run to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sandhills. Together with you, this year we want to do even more! We encourage you to set a fitness goal for yourself, and a “Fun”raising goal that you can share with your family, friends and co-workers. We have set a lofty goal of raising an additional $15,000 for this great local cause, and along with all of the kids from the clubs, we thank you for your generosity.
About the Clubs…
In every community, boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets. An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know that someone cares about them.
- 350 kids per day – Southern Pines & Aberdeen
- 22,000 meals served annually
- 1,000+ registered members
- 79% of families earn under $20k
- $5/year membership fee
Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. Boys & Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow – all while having fun. They are truly The Positive Place for Kids.

SRS 2011 Fall Race Series
