The Annual Christmas Parade will be held on  December 10th at 3:00 p.m. in Historic Downtown Aberdeen.  The Parade is part of Christmas in Aberdeen: A Hometown Holiday Tradition and will include floats, bands, clowns, antique cars, Beauty Queens, scouts, and Santa.

Come on out for a great time and a fun event promoting local shopping, dining, and good times.

]]> 2011 Reindeer Fun Run https://reindeerfunrun.com/2011/01/southern-pines-holiday-parade/ Fri, 28 Jan 2011 22:23:56 +0000 https://reindeerfunrun.wpengine.com/?p=1311 Update: While we were not able to continue the tradition in Southern Pines, we have been overwhelmed by the support of our new location, Aberdeen, NC.  From town planners, police, fire department, parks & recreation, merchants guild and many many more, it has been truly inspiring to see a community come together to create a great event, help a great local cause, and show the world what it can do.  Aberdeen is a community that is moving forward, and we are proud to be a part of it.  We are very excited by what we can accomplish together!

For those that will miss the parade following our event, check out the Aberdeen parade, one of the longest running in the area, on December 10th at 3:00 p.m.  Come and see local floats, local bands, and local flavor, and stay downtown to shop and dine and discover what Aberdeen has to offer.

]]> Southern Pines Business https://reindeerfunrun.com/2011/01/southern-pines-business/ Mon, 24 Jan 2011 13:49:18 +0000 https://reindeerfunrun.wpengine.com/?p=1284 Retail Shops and Restaurants in Southern PinesOne of the great results we have seen from our Reindeer Fun Runners Survey is the positive economic impact the event has on Southern Pines.  51% of all responders said they stayed in Southern Pines after the event to shop and dine.  With almost 2,000 runners + 1,000 fans, that’s a lot of people, and a great thing for the merchants of Southern Pines.

Runners from everywhere…
Many of our runners were from out of town this year.  The 2010 event drew runners from 112 different cities in North Carolina, and 14 different states.  We fielded calls on where to stay, where to eat, and what to do after the race.  It’s exciting to be able to introduce so many people to what we love about Southern Pines!
