As the year draws to a close, we at the Reindeer Fun Run want to take the time to thank you for everything you did to make the 7th annual Reindeer Fun Run possible.  Runners from all over the Sandhills and beyond say the RFR is their favorite race and comment on how organized and fun the event is, and each year the number of registrants grows.  All of this would not be possible if it weren’t for you, our volunteers, who gave time, energy, and effort every step of the way.  Thank you for being there from start to finish and way after the last runners finished their cool downs, you all are fantastic!  Special thanks goes out to the following:

Jae Kim and the Police, Fire, and Public Works Department for the Town of Aberdeen – this crew helped get the town of Aberdeen ready for the Reindeer Fun Run and helped to ensure runner safety

Robert, Matt, and Michael of the US Air Force – they provided heavy lifting and manual labor

Packet Pick-up
Packet pick-up starts Friday at noon.  Your best bet is to let the first rush get through and come between 1:00 and 8:00 (please don’t come early, we won’t be ready).  This year we have moved packet pick-up to Page Memorial Fellowship Hall which is right at the starting line on 104 South Poplar Street.  We will also be collecting Cans & Coats for K2 Solutions Annual Drive at packet-pickup.  Please bring what you can.

Parking
On race day, there is lots of parking in downtown Aberdeen, but please remember if you park inside of the race route, you will not be able to leave until the last runners are off the course.  There is plenty of parking outside the route and a parking map below.

On-Site Child Care
Rugg Rats will be on-site at Page Memorial Nursery for child care.  Now, both parents can run!  Space is limited, please contact Rugg Rats to make an appointment.

Pets & Strollers
We love runners with strollers and runners with pets, but we do ask that both start behind runners without.

The Reindeer Fun Run will be partnering with Rugg Rats to provide on-site child care.  Trying to help out those parents who want to both run while the kids play.  Do it!  And then let the kids run the Egg Nog Jog and play in the Chick-fil-A Kids Zone.  We’re still working out the details, but we will keep you posted…

The post Scrambled Egg Nog Jog first appeared on Reindeer Fun Run.

Early registrations have been flying in – and we’re excited! This will be the biggest Reindeer Fun Run yet, with every level of runner and walker well represented. The finale to the Sandhills Race Series first season and the new 10k is bringing out the serious runners, and the costumes, fantastic live music, food, fun and games are there for folks just looking for a good time and some exercise. The Chick-fil-A Egg Nog Jog and Kids Zone is also adding some serious fun to the event, with Pony Rides, Santa, obstacle course, along with the crowd favorite 1/2 mile kid’s run making it a great day for the whole family. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone there – and remember, 100% of proceeds go to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sandhills!
