Santa checked twice and you are on the nice list, thank you for everything!

A thank you from the Reindeer Fun Run Committee…

As the year draws to a close, we at the Reindeer Fun Run want to take the time to thank you for everything you did to make the 7th annual Reindeer Fun Run possible.  Runners from all over the Sandhills and beyond say the RFR is their favorite race and comment on how organized and fun the event is, and each year the number of registrants grows.  All of this would not be possible if it weren’t for you, our volunteers, who gave time, energy, and effort every step of the way.  Thank you for being there from start to finish and way after the last runners finished their cool downs, you all are fantastic!  Special thanks goes out to the following:

Jae Kim and the Police, Fire, and Public Works Department for the Town of Aberdeen – this crew helped get the town of Aberdeen ready for the Reindeer Fun Run and helped to ensure runner safety

Robert, Matt, and Michael of the US Air Force – they provided heavy lifting and manual labor

Mark Belk, Tania Rodriguez, and Shelley Burnett – all stayed up late and did last minute errands for the awesome Reindeer Fun Run bibs

Brian – for First Friday barricades and the giant Santa, lots of families took advantage of this photo opportunity

Page Memorial United Methodist Church – provided use of their buildings, campus, and parking lots

Aberdeen Business Guild – this group acquired, prepared, and served snacks at the hospitality tent

John Heimrich of NuView for helping the Boys & Girls Clubs all year round including the P.A. system for the finish line

Everyone at the Sandhills Race Series, especially Jodi Heimrich & Brian Povish

Catherine Chandler with Overton – she helped spot errors on the Reindeer Fun Run website and raised $127 for tips at their booth

Bryan of Blue’s Crossing Barbershop – he allowed access to the shop allowing the Reindeer Fun Run to store finish line items and provided a place for volunteers to meet and keep warm before the race (brr, it was cold!)

Dave, Brian, and Jeff – for being last minute pace setters

Kate and Mary – these ladies kept the children entertained during waves

Airborne Balloons – they provided the finish line for the Egg Nog Jog and also stood out in the cold for two hours guarding the structures from the weather

Gulley’s – for donating the red ribbon for candy stripping the finish line divider posts and for four finisher wreaths

Carolyn Canady, Calista Force, and Melissa – these ladies handed out finisher medals and helped with directions

Andrea Braccamonte – directed runner traffic for the 12k and 5k at the finish line

Ann Marie and Joanne Thorton – organized and handed out bottled water

Shelley Burnett, Tania and Alana Rodriguez, Kerry Cronin, Angelia, and Danielle Dawkins and her children – all provided finish line and course assistance

Valet Cleaners for always taking good care of Santa

Ohio State Alumni, O’Neal School and Midway Garden’s Club for making sure everyone was well hydrated on the course

Texas Roadhouse – provided salad and bread to the volunteers after the race on Saturday

Thank you all for everything you did to make the Reindeer Fun Run possible and we can’t wait to see you next year for our 8th annual Reindeer Fun Run!
