Every year we review the Reindeer Fun Run and ask ourselves, “How can we improve?” We think we have a pretty good one this year.
Since the event is getting so big, we need more space at both the start and finish lines for crowds to set up, watch and cheer. To accomplish this, we’ve made a small course change that adds a cool run along the tracks on Fayetteville and Blue streets. This in turn allows us to push the starting line forward to the corner of Main Street, and pull the Finish line back just a bit to Exchange.
We will now have a much more room, be further from any railroad tracks, and incorporate more of Aberdeen’s beautiful Main Street. In addition, we are moving the water stations to reduce congestion (especially where 12k & 5k combine). These are small, but impactful changes–we hope you like them!
We also have a cool idea for the Egg Nog Jog, but we’re not quite ready to share that one yet :-)
