A gift to our community


Santa’s Reindeer fly through the sky bringing presents to good children. On December 7th participants in the 7th Annual Reindeer Fun Run will be giving a gift to our community.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sandhills

Proceeds from the Reindeer Fun Run are invested in the youth of our community. 100% of donations made after Nov 1st  are given to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sandhills. Over the past seven years, over $117,000 has been donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sandhills.

The Boys & Girls Club serves over 300 children each day during the school year. Each day homework is completed during “Power Hour” and proven national programs are provided such as “Smart Moves” a prevention program addressing drug and alcohol use. There is time for free play too and basketball, tennis, and ping pong and pool are popular activities.

Each day during the summer, the Club offers endless array of activities that foster learning and developing strong character plus three healthy meals. Swimming, bowling, and trips to the zoo are popular summer activities.

A gift  as small as $1 can give a child the chance to join in on a summer field trip to the movies, bowling, or even to an ice skating rink. Each donation to the Boys & Girls Club is appreciated and helps ensure that every child in our community has a place to go after school and during the summer.

The Boys & Girls Club of the Sandhills changes our community’s children’s lives for the better; the club provides healthy well balanced meals, homework and future career help, positive role models, and a safe, fun, and educational environment at a time in a child’s’ development when they are growing and where it can make the greatest impact.

Core programs emphasize academics and a strong moral compass. The games and programs that the Boys & Girls Club provides to its members help to foster positive relationships and build productive members of our community.

Membership fees are kept low to ensure that every child ages 6-18 can join.  The cost to the family of a child is only $10 for the after school program and a $120 for the full 8 week long summer camp. Teens can join for free. The more funds that are received, the greater the impact can be.

For $500 a year, you can sponsor a child, giving them everything from healthy fresh meals to the mentoring of excellent role models in a safe and consistently motivational environment and all of the opportunities that come with that.

There is a great need for more help, each dollar makes a direct impact on our community and every donation helps. The support for the Reindeer Run can make an amazing difference in so many lives. Thank you for your support.
